duskeepBy downloading or using Duskeep ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. If you get Duskeep from the App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
The service
Duskeep is a personal voice journal. You record spoken notes, either one recording or several short moments through a day, and Duskeep transcribes them and writes them into a page for that day. The app can send optional prompts to record, which you control in Settings. Writing a page needs an internet connection. You can use Duskeep without an account, or sign in with Apple or Google to back up your pages.
Your content
You own the recordings, transcripts, and pages you create. You grant Duskeep and its processors a limited licence to transmit and process your content solely to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the content you record and for using the app lawfully, including getting consent where the law requires it before recording other people.
Encryption and your recovery code
Your stored pages are encrypted to a key held only on your phone. We cannot read them and cannot recover them. Your recovery code (Settings → Account → Your recovery code) is the only way to open your journal on another phone. You are responsible for keeping it safe and private. If you lose both your phone and your recovery code, your stored pages cannot be restored by anyone, including us.
Acceptable use
Do not use Duskeep to record unlawful content, to infringe others' rights, or to attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service or its infrastructure.
Duskeep+ subscriptions
Recording your day is free. Duskeep+ is an optional auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or yearly, billed through your Apple ID. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by region. If you cancel, you keep Duskeep+ until the end of the period you've paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
Deleting your data and account
You can delete a single day, erase your whole journal (Settings → Account → Erase my journal), or delete your account and its cloud data (Settings → Account → Delete account) at any time. Deleting your account does not cancel a Duskeep+ subscription; cancel that in your App Store settings.

Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
